- The next Forum builds on the previous issue celebrating OMC's 50th Anniversary. The theme of the spring issue is "Leaving Home-Coming Home." OMCers are invited to reflect on the topic of the church as home. What stories could you share about integrating your Mennonite roots with your life and faith as a Mennonite in Ottawa in 2010? If you didn't grow up Mennonite, what stories do you have about becoming Mennonite and perhaps leaving another culture or faith tradition? Deadline: April 18. Contact any member of the Forum committee if you have any questions: Bre, Ellen, Jan, Jeremy, Monty, Sheridan, Ute.
- Bible Memory Challenge, February 21 to March 28, During the season
of Lent the Christian Education Committee is challenging everyone at
OMC to memorize Scripture as a way to encourage individuals and
families to learn Scripture together. A list of suggested verses and
passages selected from the lectionary and with various levels of
difficulty for each week of Lent is available in the foyer. Work at
your own pace, be creative, and have fun spending time with
Scripture. Even if only one verse is learned in the six weeks, the
challenge will have been met!
